I had turned the thing down to the lowest setting and came back after just a couple of seconds... ARGH. I should add that the cake was frozen. Still tasty though.

When I happen to buy pieces of cake at local supermarkets, they always end up as tiny or even minuscule slices - and still cost above 1.80€ most of the time. This magnificent piece here though comes from a traditional bakery and is as large as my hand including fingers. The right side is about 5cm thick (2 in). The best thing though is the price: 1.10€ ! When I first got such a piece, I though the slice thickness was a mistake, maybe because I looked hungry or something ;-) But no, this is the 2nd time I got such a slab. Different date, different sales person. I like it.

Palm sized thing. I didn't find a translation I liked, maybe it could be called 'roll' as well. Sweet cherry goodness for 95¢.
