This is part of the road bridge that connects Havant to Hayling Island, Hampshire..........the only way on and off! In the summer it is extremely busy with traffic jams regularly a mile or so long. There used to be a steam railway running adjacent to the bridge, that that closed down in the 1960's.

Former Royal Hotel, Hayling Island. Now luxury apartments, this grade II listed building was built about 1825 shortly after the first bridge to the island was completed. Part of a grandiose scheme which never came to fruition. During WW1 the hotel was used as a School of Musketry with soldiers from the Empire coming for one week courses. Nothing special, but it's very rare to see it without cars and people in the way so I couldn't resist taking a picture.
