Milton Common, Portsmouth (+PiP)

Another couple of images from my walk on Milton Common last Tuesday. The other image is in the PiP.
Believe It or not this beautiful place used to be mudflats. The land was reclaimed and used as a landfill site between 1962-1970. Around 1974 it was capped, grassed over and nature was allowed to take over.
Best viewed large if you have time. Thanks for looking.

Cemetery Snowdrops (+PiPs)

Taken in the cemetery of St Mary's church in Buriton, Hampshire. I think I probably got these images just in time as some of the snowdrops are starting to die down.
This is quite heavily cropped to get rid of a lot of distracting stuff, so best viewed large if you have time. There are a couple of PiPs as well.
Roadside Wildflowers

Taken along the road that runs over the top of Old Winchester Hill, Hampshire. It's becoming more and more common in England for grass verges alongside roads to be left to grow rather than being mowed short, which is great for wildlife.
Roped off

Some areas of the graveyard in our local church have been roped off and left unmown for the wildflowers. What a great idea!
Just to be different though I decided to focus on the ropes rather than the flowers :-))
There's another image in the PiP if you fancy a look!

An extra photo from me today......taken for WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY.
This was taken this morning during a quick walk at Langstone Harbour Hampshire, while the sun was out. It didn't say out long, but it was a pleasant outing nonetheless.
I spotted this abandoned dinghy lying in a sea of wildflowers as I was on the way back to my car!
Please view large, on black. Thanks for looking............I hope you've all had a good day!

The Bluebell season is upon us............we visited this location about 2 weeks ago and there were only a few flowers out. Yesterday we went back................and they're all out! It was a bit of a shame that the sun wasn't out as well and it rained shortly after taking these images. It was a wet walk back to the car :-))
Enjoy your weekend everyone. Thanks to everyone who has visited my photo-stream lately and taken the trouble to comment or leave a star.

Well, not quite a meadow - but a large flower bed in Southsea, Hampshire near the seafront.
It's all in the perspective :-)

Can't remember exactly where this is, (somewhere in deepest, darkest Hampshire), just that I liked the way the road looked after the rain stopped, and the freshness of the roadside greenery!
