Security

This is the chain and heavy duty padlock on the main gates of St Faith's Cemetery in Havant, my home town. The cemetery is locked up at dusk.
I'm never sure whether the security is to stop people going into the cemetery after dark, or whether is it to stop the "residents" of the cemetery from getting out..!!

In a cemetery in Hayling Island, Hampshire during a walk this morning. I was sheltering under a large yew tree and managed to stay almost totally dry!
View large to see the falling rain in the background.
There are another couple of shots in the PiPs. Thanks for looking!

Taken in the cemetery of St Mary's church in Buriton, Hampshire. I think I probably got these images just in time as some of the snowdrops are starting to die down.
This is quite heavily cropped to get rid of a lot of distracting stuff, so best viewed large if you have time. There are a couple of PiPs as well.

Taken in the grounds of St Peter's Church, Petersfield, Hampshire. The yellow leaves stand out beautifully, even with the grey sky and no sunshine.

You can easily see that this gravestone was once covered in ivy. Taken in Havant Town Cemetery.

I took this poignant image in my local cemetery yesterday afternoon. The light was quite harsh and I considered lightening up the shadows but eventually decided to leave them quite dark. Although I'm not religious I quite like visiting cemeteries - they are usually very peaceful places. Our one is quite old and part of it is now managed as a wildflower meadow. I got quite a few images I was happy with including some Fungi, one of which I've posted along with this one.

This is the Grade II listed Anglican Chapel in Highland Road Cemetery, Southsea, Hampshire.
I managed to get a 20 minute walkround whilst Mrs B was having a look in a couple of shops. Apparently, there are 8 VC recipients buried there. I managed to find the grave of one of them in the time I had (I'll post a picture of it in due course).
Please view large, on black.

Taken this morning at our local cemetery, which is a surprisingly nice place for an hours wander with a camera.
Better on black ;-)
