Not the best of days for visiting the beach. It was difficult to stand up against the wind. These four images are of the waves hitting the outside deck of the Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island and the ajoining groynes. Bear in mind that the pebbles I was standing on are about 15 feet or so above sea level. If you look closely you can see some of the the pebbles from the beach being tossed up in the waves.

Strong winds and stormy seas at Hayling Island yesterday.........for some brave surfers though it was ideal, but challenging! For me it was enough of a challenge to stand upright on the beach and keep the salt water spray off the front of my lens!

We've had our family visiting this week and I've taken quite a few family snaps. I like this one so much that I've decided to share it. It was taken yesterday during an unexpected downpour at Langstone Harbour, where we had gone so our "grown up children" and our grandchildren could feed the ducks and swans. We had to take refuge under the huge parasols at the Ship Inn where we drank hot chocolate and played board games. Thank heavens for Olympus weather-sealing! Please view large, on black.

This is my local railway station, about a five minute walk from my house. Taken on this day in January 2013, but resurrected for today. I shall be much happier when we can upload current photos :-( Anyway, Happy Fence Friday to you all. I hope you have a good a weekend as possible under the current circumstances. I've just had a few days off work recently.................this shot, taken through my lounge window, just about sums up the weather most of the time!
