A Message from the Past

02 Oct 2021 11 15 147
I spotted this "vintage" poster in an antique shop window.................I think the message is still just as important nowadays.:-) This type of poster would have been issued by the Ministry of Health during WW2 - but I think this one is probably a (bad) copy :-)

Through the Apothacary Window

05 Aug 2019 27 21 276
Taken in Albert Road, Southsea, Hampshire. As the window was a bit dirty, I decided to emphasise this in PP by adding a "grunge" filter. Best viewed large, on black. Thank you :-) PS: Spot the sad face (I've added a note if you need it)!

We had a wander round West Dean Gardens, Nr Chichester, yesterday. They have a huge shed in the nursery area which is off limits to the public, but it has some really old bits and pieces in it. I managed to get a couple of shots through an open window. Please view large, on black. Thank you.

HFF folks.............I'm a bit late I know but the day's not over yet, (unless you live in a vastly different time zone to me). I hope you've had a great day and are looking forward to the weekend.

We went to a tea-party the other week to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of our neighbours. This lovely lady entertained us with songs from the 1930's and 1940's.

Police Slow

22 Jul 2013 2 4 329
A vintage Ford Anglia Police vehicle. I'm not sure if the notice next to it refers to the speed of the vehicle or is an instruction for drivers to slow down :) To misquote Philip Glenister (as DCI Gene Hunt); "Fire up the Anglia!"

Pretty sure this is a Singer Roadster......beautiful looking car.

Mack Truck

This is a beast of a truck. 6 in-line petrol engines pulling 159 bhp......3 miles per gallon!!

Chevrolet

Another vintage vehicle. I love the colour of this one and the "in your face styling"!
