Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (on Lake Superior), Munising, Michigan. July of 1998. One perhaps-unexpected result of playing with OpticsPro (photo post-processing software) and Photo Supreme (a photo indexing system) has been that I've been looking at old pix. Though this one was processed using AfterShot Pro, it's one of those "found" photos.

Towards the Manitous

First we climbed the dune, then we hiked most of a mile toward Lake Michigan. This view justified the walk.

On February 26 last year we conquered the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb and followed the paths atop the dune until the trail threatened to take us down to Lake Michigan. So we turned into the painful wind and returned to the car. A good winter's hike. At which point I called The Boathouse and made reservations for dinner. ========== Properly speaking, the Dunes pictures weren't outtakes as I'd already posted the day's 366 Snaps photograph, of the East Arm of Traverse Bay. I'll talk some more about that photograph tomorrow.... This photograph is an outtake (not really; see the discussion) from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . Number of project photos taken: 50 (but mostly atop the dune, and not really project pix) Title of " roll :" The Sleeping Bear Other photos taken on 2/26/2012: 85 photos taken with the Cybershot, mostly on the Dune. And the Boathouse photo linked to above.
