These are tough birds for me to photograph; they're skittish and most times you don't see them until it's too late. I wish the branch wasn't in the way, but them's the breaks.

Another "exotic" bird sighting. This Hungarian Partridge is obviously an escapee from the local shooting preserve, as we don't have actual partridges in our area. The closest bird we have are Ruffed Grouse, which are commonly referred to as partridge by the locals.

This guy was about 40' up; I never would have noticed him if the crows hadn't been carrying on like crazy. Later in the day he was parading around the front property. Perhaps we'll have a family of partridge this year. (note: actually a ruffed grouse, but everyone here calls them partridge.)
