The crust on the snow makes skiing fairly icky. Figures, all that new snow and the skiing sucks!

Yes! Finally out on my new (used) skis! They're awesome, and the ugly yellow boots are the bomb. :)

Went to the local ski and skate swap this weekend hoping to upgrade my cross country ski equipment. I was looking for a taller boot with the new step in in bindings and a pair of skis that were more geared toward brush busting. Yep, I found a pair of skis that fit the bill; not quite back country skis, but more fitting to the type of skiing I do than touring skis. The boots? Well, that was a little more daunting. There was almost nothing in my size that would fit the bindings on the skis I chose except this pair. I tried - twice - to finagle a discount on them due to thier extreme ugliness, but no dice. At least I'll be highly visible, right?

The pit is showing bare ground, and in the bowl it's pretty soupy. Methinks the ski season is beginning to wind down. :(
