The winds during the storm were insane; 40-50 mph gusts. So strong they blew snowballs around the yard.

As I was taking this photo a strong wind blew the snow out of the tree tops and across the field, creating a wonderful hazy quality to the scene. I can't wait to stand in my living room and look out on this view every morning.

A proper New England blizzard raged all day. Wicked winds, bitter cold, and driving snow - it's been a long time since I've seen a storm like this.

The blizzard has arrived! We had about a foot and a half of snow out of this system, but the real star was the constant, raging wind.

Hurricane Irene was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reached us. Here in the Lakes Region of NH we had wind, rain, and loss of power. Our power went out at 11am on Sunday and was finally restored at 6pm on Wednesday. Luckily we had minimal damage on our property, and what little flash flooding we saw in the river down back receded to its original course within half a day.
