How lucky can they be if they drive you to the edge of madness when you have them chirping in your house?

I'm still itching to get more exposure with the new macro lens, so finding this bug on the firewood gave me a chance to put it to the test. My eyesight isn't what it used to be, and I'm finding that I have trouble judging my focus. Of the 30 shots I took, only two were acceptable. This looks like some kind of longhorn beetle and was the size of a carpenter ant.

When my brother and I were little we used to see these fuzzy ended bugs flying about; we called them "cotton bugs". I still delight in chasing them around the yard...childhood isn't as far behind you as you may think.
