One of the many sluice gates in a complicated system that controls water levels throughout the flatland's that are the Somerset Levels, this is Boundary Rhyne in an image from last summer.

Back to the beautiful Somerset levels and the unglamorously named Kings Sedgemoor Drain, In the distance are the low Polden Hills which dissect the 160,000 acres (650 km2) levels.

Somerset Levels looking east along the King's Sedgemoor Drain from Greylakes Bridge,This is an artificial drainage channel which diverts the River Cary in Somerset, England along the southern flank of the Polden Hills, to discharge into the River Parrett at Dunball near Bridgwater. As the name suggests, the channel is used to help drain the peat moors of King's Sedgemoor.
