Main Street East (on the left) and Main Street West (on the right ) plus Front St , Inveraray. with the towns church in the distance, HWW! a large view perhaps Established in 1745 by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of the powerful Clan Campbell, the town is an absolute set piece of Scottish Georgian architecture.

This is the main street in Lochinver, Sutherland, and a vintage Ford leaving after refuelling at the local garage, It has what I believe to be a Somerset licence plate, which is at the other end of the UK and my home county! It is now 110 years old! "Posted for the "North Coast 500" Group

Blue Rope and a Bell

The Isle of Whithorn Parish Church (Church of Scotland) Originally built as a free church in 1844 In order to ring the bell it looks as though the blue rope has to be first untied from the rain water pipe, it may well not be rung on a wet day ;-) The top pip shows a closer view of the bell tower and the second pip shows the position of the church wedged in between the Harbour and the Main Street, HFF and a great weekend !

This week's Tuesday post box image is from the Isle of Whithorn in Dumfries and Galloway. As appears normal in Scotland, this is on a junction, this time it's Main Street and Harbour Row.
