Dunstaffnage Castle near Oban, Scotland, dates back to the 13th century. It is built on a small peninsula with the Firth of Lorne to the west and Loch Etive to the east and north. This is a view northwards showing the southern aspect of the castle keep, built on an outcrop of Devonian age conglomerate (Kerrera Sandstone Formation).
