Listen to the sound of flowing water.... "I rest my head on a stone and rinse my ear in the river," can be read on the ear-shaped sculpture that lies at the foot of the bridge that spans the river Sorgue. The custom is to make a wish and throw a coin. A gift from the german artist Walter Mangold in homage to the poet and resistant René Char, born at l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Mais en tant qu'amateur de Claude Monet, j'ai pensé tout de suite au célèbre "Champ de coquelicots près de Vétheuil" de 1879 (voir PiP), bien que Vétheuil soit complètement opposé, à proximité de la Normandie. I was delighted to find this poppy field, situated in the south of France.
