... ist dieser Prachtbau in Berlin, sondern der U-Bahnhof "Rathaus Schöneberg", entworfen von Johann Emil Schaudt, dem Architekten des weltbekannten Warenhauses KaDeWe, dem hier eine architektonische Meisterleistung gelang. Die 1909/10 erbaute Station ist sowohl Bahnhofshalle als auch aufwendig gestaltete Straßenbrücke (Carl-Zuckmayer-Brücke), die mit Sandstein-Skulpturen repräsentativ dekoriert ist. Die Brücke trennt den Rudolph-Wilde-Park in eine östliche und eine westliche Hälfte. Die westliche ist ein Landschaftspark mit einem See (s. PiP), die östliche eine Art Kurpark. Das Bild entstand in der vergangenen Woche bei einem längeren Berlinaufenthalt. Built in 1909/10, the station is both a station hall and an elaborately designed street bridge (Carl-Zuckmayer-Brücke), which is representatively decorated with sandstone sculptures. The bridge divides the Rudolph Wilde Park into an eastern and a western half. The western half is a landscape park with a lake (see PiP), the eastern half a kind of spa park. The photo was taken last week during a longer stay in Berlin. The tower in the background is part of the Schöneberg town hall.

Im Bild die östliche Hälfte des Parks, im Gegensatz zur westlichen Hälfte (siehe 2 PiPs) angelegt in Form eines "Kurparks", mit großem Springbrunnen, einer großen Anzahl von Figuren und vielen Sitz- und Spielmöglichkeiten. Wie das Photo zeigt, sind schon am frühen Vormittag etliche Menschen hier im Park unterwegs, um zu spielen oder zu relaxen. Großartig, wieviel Grünanlagen, Parks und Spielplätze Berlin zu bieten hat. Die Berliner und die Besucher Berlins wissen es zu schätzen. Auffällig in diesem Parkteil ist der Hirschbrunnen, das Wahrzeichen des Parks. In der Mitte eines runden Springbrunnens erhebt sich eine acht Meter hohe Säule, auf der ein vergoldeter Hirsch mit prächtigem Geweih steht. The photo shows the eastern half of the park, in contrast to the western half (see 2 PiPs), laid out in the form of a "spa park", with a large fountain, a large number of figures and many places to sit and play. As the photo shows, quite a few people are already out and about in the park in the early morning, playing or relaxing. It's great how many green spaces, parks and playgrounds Berlin has to offer. Berliners and visitors to Berlin appreciate it. A striking feature in this part of the park is the Hirschbrunnen ("stag fountain"), the park's landmark. In the middle of a round fountain rises an eight-metre-high column on which stands a gilded stag with magnificent antlers. The heraldic animal of Schöneberg was created by the sculptor August Gaul in 1912.
