The 2.0 litre RS2000 version of the Mk2 Escort, with its distinctively slanted polyurethane nose, featured the Pinto engine from the Cortina. It provided a claimed 110 bhp and a top speed of 110 mph ... boy racers (and the not so old racers) loved them!

These are fabulous little cars to look at, but sadly I've never experienced what it's like to drive one.

Supposedly the Rover P6 series (named 2000, 2200, and 3500 for its engine displacements) was voted European Car of the Year in 1964, the very first winner of this title!
