Pine Cree Regional Park is located at the bottom of a deep coulee, which is surrounded by mostly flat crop land, which makes the entry into the park steep and dramatic. The flat lan is mostly treeless, while the coulee bottom is shaded by trees.

On the way home from a meeting it was impossible to miss the copper-coloured orb in the sky. I drove to a vantage point near the University of Regina, using my phone to capture this image of the setting sun. I noticed two other people nearby were also using their phones to capture this fleeting moment.

I took a walk around a local park, and while everything was covered in frost, there was too much background clutter in images of the trees and bushes. A close-up of some branches and a single leaf did illustrate how much frost had accumulated overnight.

While hiking around a park photographing frost covered trees, for a few moments the sunrise gave a pink colour to everything. As I was processing this I recalled Homer's rosy-fingered dawn phrase, which was one of the mnemonic devices he used to help him memorize his epic poem.
