Today will be very windy with strong gusts in north-western areas. Heavy rain moving eastwards across the UK in the morning, clearing to leave sunny spells, and squally showers in the north-west.

Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor 28mm f/2 AI lens.

"I photograph to see what things look like photographed." – Garry Winogrand. Hey! I do that too. I did it with a Nikon D2Xs set at 100 ISO with a Nikkor 50mm f/2 AI lens at f/2.8.

I photographed the bedroom curtains after they had been drawn closed. I put the resulting image through Lightroom and turned it through a right angle, then cropped it square. Tamron 70 - 210mm f2.8 LD SP 67D lens.

I can't recall if I used the Nikkor 28mm f/2 lens or the 35mm f/2 - the venerable Nikkor-O.C in an AI factory conversion that I bought for top dollar. Both are exceptional for sharpness and clarity, and neither are easily found, being professional kit of 30 years ago and either worn out or being hoarded by discerning photographers. The camera used was a Nikon D2Xs, the last crop-sensor professional digital Nikon before the company adopted full frame for its pro line. 100 ISO; f/2.2; 1/320th.
