I have no idea what the young woman is holding in this picture. A very oddly-shaped picnic basket or carry-all? Some component of the motorcycle (which might technically be a moped anyway)? Anyone know? (Well, I got my answer. Scroll over to read.)
From the Central Radio Club in Prague to Radio W7BDU in Portland, Oregon. (Shown slightly larger than original size.)

Does anyone recognize the breed of dog? My first thought was Chow or Husky, but... nah.

I'd love to answer all your questions about toe touching safety. Alas, I don't have the rest of the magazine. :o From the August issue.

The apple design needs to be on my future food cart, and on my line of tie-in T-Shirts.
Meanwhile, the directions on the right remind us: "To keep the sparkle in 7UP, please don't 'paddle your punch.'"
At least not if it's an all-ages celebration.

The "Nutty Upside Down Apple Pie" sounds complicated. If anyone reading has turned one of these out successfully, I want to see photographic evidence. Pretty please?

I still can't get used to the concept of "7up Pancakes" . I would totally wear the left side image as earrings, though. The "Cookie Pot" would have been a treasured ceramic pendant in 2nd or 3rd grade, too. I would have pretended to get why the bigger kids laughed at the word "pot," but I was pretty sheltered back then. :o

The bread clearly wouldn't turn out sweet enough with just a bottle of 7up and a cup of sugar per loaf. You'd want to dunk each slice in honey and confectioners sugar after it emerged from the oven. Y'know, just to make sure.

You can glimpse the face of Marvin the Martian on the left side tray if you hold the page just right.

Cheddar-Clam-7up Dip? Shrimp-Cottage Cheese-7up Dip?
If I smoked enough funny cigarettes beforehand, I might be motivated to class these as edible.
Anything involving Braunschweiger, though, is out. With or without fizzy stuff in it. (Gah.)

Crank up the Vivaldi, mix a 7up with some canned fruit cocktail and voila! It's a "Prelude To Dinner"!
....

I love these illustrations, and I'm sad they're not credited. But I still prefer my 7up as the good Lord made it: In a glass, with nothing added but some ice and maybe a straw.

A valiant effort, but it never sold as well as the "Crochet Your Own Swimsuit Model" kit.
