Three out of five sections, from a promotional fold-out published by the American Lamb Council, Denver, CO. The foil outerwear was a sneaky plug for Kaiser Aluminum, which is mentioned in the recipes on the back of each section.

Olympia Beer Ad, 1959

Think of how exotic this must have looked to the "family" demographic back in 1959. You've got your (admittedly crappy) NORTHWEST U.S. beer and an image of fish in its natural (as opposed to canned or frozen plywood stick) form. Plus, nobody even mentioned Lent anywhere in the ad text. Pretty edgy. From the April 1959 issue of Family Circle.

Uncle Jake has just bet Dad fifty bucks that he can't eat that entire steak in one sitting. Dad's only hope of victory is the extra stomach acid that comes with sating one's "coffee hunger" before the meal. From the September issue of Western Family magazine.

The scary thing is, that steak only serves one. From the August issue.
