Decade after decade, you can count on the folks at 7-Up for new adorable illustrations and the same old underwhelming (or disturbing) recipes. Originally posted to flickr on January 30th, 2011.

Inside front covers from 1965 (l) and from 1970 (r). It was the trippy electric purple-pink foil effect which was supposed to let everyone know that they weren't having dessert in Kansas anymore...

Clockwise: Golden Punch, Strawberry Punch, Orange/Lime Punch, and Champagne Delight Punch. "Your punch bowl is more than a punch bowl. It serves crisp salad greens invitingly, molds gelatin desserts glamorously, holds fruit compotes colorfully. And for a punch party sensation, freeze liquid in gelatin mold, unmold and float in your favorite punch. It's as easy as it is elegant." I feel like an underachiever now. I only take out the punchbowl once a year: On January 1st.

Other recipes included: Hot Fudge Sauce, Chocolate Frosting, Frozen Fudge Bars, Fudge Sundae Pie, assorted frostings, Strawberry Freeze (sort of like what advertisers eventually pitched as "ice milk" in my childhood), and Frozen Fruit dessert (cream cheese + canned milk + marshmallows + fruit cocktail, served in a cupcake paper. Wha--?).
