And thus ends our saga. Such local landmarks as the 24-hr Church Of Elvis, the Metro on Broadway, and The Pagoda are long gone, but Franz -- in its fragrant, white glory-- marches on!

A lost opportunity. This ad just needed drizzle, a fog machine, and a smoking gun in Miss Avis' hand. Then it would've been Rental Noir.

"For over thirty-five years, The Electric Auto-Lite Company has specialized its abilities on the production of automotive starting, lighting, and ignition equipment. The engineering know-how and specialized skills that have resulted from that experience will become apparent to you as you use this catalog of automotive wire and cables..."
I've done my best to pinpoint a date for this. According to General Cable History :
"1911 - Prestolite Wire, acquired by General Cable in 2012, was originally founded as Electric Autolite. A wire and cable division was official[ly] established in Port Huron, Michigan, in the 1930[s] and that was when the Prestolite Brand name first came into use."
Front and back covers of a 52-page catalog, published by The Electric Auto-Lite Company, Port Huron, Michigan.
