Arles

Since 2007 smoking is prohibited in all French schools, airports, stations, museums etc. Since 2008 smoking is prohibited in all French bars, pubs, restaurants, nightclubs etc. as well. This lady just found a little niche to smoke a cigarette. The red/white sticker on the gutter pipe is the marker of the GR (sentier de grande randonnée), that crosses the centre of Arles.

Via Turonensis

The very last signpost, before I reached Portiers. Just below the the "Coquille St. Jacques" an unknown person, named "Theo", had left the note "Je ne suis pas un être mais une existence".

Via Turonensis - Montlouis-sur-Loire

I left Montlouis-sur-Loire via this road, that soon evolved into a slippery track. I was now approaching Tours and could see on the map, that I had to cross the Loire, but the bridge I had seen from the cliff was a railway bridge. The "balisage" was clear. The "red/white" sticker stood for the "grand randonnée" GR655ET, the yellow shell for the "Via Turonensis".

Finally, after many months, I could return to Blois in spring 2015 and continue, the walk, that I had started in Paris a year ago. For the first days the "Via Turonensis" followed the Loire. The small blue/yellow sticker with the shell made clear, that the direction was right.

From Paris to Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon I had walked over paved streets and roads. Now, after having entered the forest, even the "balisage" was perfect. Coming from Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon, I had to turn left to Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières.

Approaching Ruesta

Walking on the southern shore of the Yesa reservoir, approaching Ruesta on a crisp morning. After the shadowless stretches of the last days, this was a lovely hike. On one of the trees to the right are two markers: the yellow arrow - and the white/red square.
