Roquetas de Mar is located around 30 km south of Almería. The actual Roquetas de Mar already existed in ancient times. At the beginning of the 1960s, the "Urbanización Roquetas de Mar" was built to the south-west of it, where the tourist infrastructure is located. There are long beaches here. Alongside fruit and vegetable growing, tourism is the second largest economic sector in the municipality. And then there is the restaurant "Ales & Patricia", a restaurant whose quality is far above the "normal" tourist places. I had the best paella I've ever eaten here.
