Nice, as seen after take off. With a population of 350.000 Nice is 5th largest city in France, but differs clearly from the larger (Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse) having long beaches at the "Baie des Anges" (the bay of the angels). Nice is the center of the "Côte d’Azur" and is even in December blessed with a very mild climate. The winter is only visible on the snowcapped mountains of the Maritime Alps in the background. The white spot on the mountain to the right is the old "Observatoire de Nice" (Nice Observatory).
