Greek mosaic cake is a very sweet dessert, but goes very well with icecream and a a glass of tsikoudia, a pomace brandy. Often very strong and a Cretan type of raki. Most Cretan restaurants serve tsikoudia as a digestif.

Pork meat served on Crete has in general much more fat, than the tourist is used from "greek dishes" at home. For my tastebuts this is a clear win. Only the fries are boring like everywhere.

There are certainly different types of Greek-Cretan cuisine. The one shown here is probably a standard dish, favoured by tourists from Central Europe, as it is very similar to the Greek dishes served ‘at home’. (Lots of) Gyros meat, fries, pita, onions, tomatoes and yoghurt.
