The parish claims that St. Fillan’s is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Scotland. The nave and chancel date from 1123. It was enlarged in the 15th century with the addition of a side aisle and the small transept in the 17th century. The church fell into disrepair in the 18th century and was restored in 1926. St. Fillan’s has served the parish for 900 years and so is for sure one of the oldest churches in Scotland.
