"Jazz à Vienne" features 250 concerts each year, 1,000 artists, 200,000 festival-goers.
The 41st edition took place from June 29 to July 13, 2022.
ALL NIGHT JAZZ is the final (and hardest) night of the festival as it starts around 8 pm and ends when the sun is up. Or later. Six groups performed that night, but I didn't see them all... I'm too old for events like this... Sorry!

Trombonist Fred Wesley (*1943) began his career as a teenager in the band of Ike and Tina Turner, worked with James Brown in the '60s, and was the bandleader of the JBs in the '70s. He later was a member of George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic and joined the Count Basie Orchestra after this episode. He is now the frontman of the "new" JBs, a band with deep roots as the "Original" J.B.'s were led by Fred Wesley as James Brown's Band in 1970. The J.B.'s played on some of Brown's most intensely funk recordings and, of course, toured with Brown. Now they are back!
