"Jazz à Vienne" features 250 concerts each year, 1,000 artists, 200,000 festival-goers. The 41st edition took place from June 29 to July 13, 2022. ALL NIGHT JAZZ is the final (and hardest) night of the festival as it starts around 8 pm and ends when the sun is up. Or later. Six groups performed that night, but I didn't see them all... I'm too old for events like this... Sorry! - Trombonist Fred Wesley (*1943) began his career as a teenager in the band of Ike and Tina Turner, worked with James Brown in the '60s, and was the bandleader of the JBs in the '70s. He later was a member of George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic and joined the Count Basie Orchestra after this episode. He is now the frontman of the "new" JBs, a band with deep roots as the "Original" J.B.'s were led by Fred Wesley as James Brown's Band in 1970.
