Laval-sur-Doulon - Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption

27 Jan 2020 110
Today only about 60 people live in Laval-sur-Doulon. When Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, a priory church affiliated with the abbey of the Chaise-Dieu, was erected within the 14th century, the village may have been more populated. Unfortunately, the church was locked. There are a couple of corbels and carvings, that are clearly older than the church itself. This lady acts like a mermaid, but she is dressed - and has legs.
