Cologne is the fourth-largest city in Germany - and one of the oldest. A Germanic tribe, the Ubii, had a settlement here, this was named by the Romans "Oppidum Ubiorum". In 50 AD, the Romans founded "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium", the city then became the provincial capital of "Germania Inferior". The "House of Dance" / "Haus des Tanzes" is the home of "Tanzschule Schulerecki", founded in 1955 and one of the oldest, still existing dancing schools in Cologne. The "Haus des Tanzes" was built 1957 - 1959. Sixteen years old Conny Froboess performed during the opening party. Today not only waltz and foxtrot is tought here, even courses in HipHop dancing are held.
