La Bastide is a really small village with a population of less than two hundred, but there is a very active "Comité des Fêtes" organising numerous fêtes over the year. End of July, the "Fête Patronale de la Ste Marie-Madeleine" is a four days long event with a procession, competitions, tournaments, barbecue, lotteries and a flea market. We came a bit too early, so there were many empty chairs, waiting for the villagers. Minutes later the deep fryer was started and we had excellent french fries. Merci beaucoup!
