Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille is known by musicians as this is the place of the "Festival du Monastier" (aka "Festival de Cuivres"), a great meeting centered around "brass". 40 concerts - in 7 days!! We had stayed here for the full seven days in 2017, but rooms are scarce in Monastier during the festival. We could only stay for two nights in 2018, as all rooms were booked out.
