St. Pankratius, the parish church of the village Hoinkhausen, is located on an elevated place in the very centre of the village. The large church was erected mid 13th century from regional, green sandstone, better known as "Anröchter Sandstein". The original tower was demolished in 1860 and a new "Neo-Romanesque" one was built. St. Pankratius is known for the tympanum (prev. upload), the organ and the Baroque high altar.

Just like in Plettenberg (60kms southwest), Christ´s arms are very long and are spread to embrace the onlookers. To the right is the nativity scene. The crib, the ox, the ass, Mary and Joseph (note the Jewish hat). This scene stands for the New Testament, while to the right the Old Testament is represented by long-haired Samson tears the lion apart.
