Cologne - Johann Schäfer

09 Apr 2018 187
Cologne is the fourth-largest city in Germany - and one of the oldest. A Germanic tribe, the Ubii, had a settlement here, this was named by the Romans "Oppidum Ubiorum". In 50 AD, the Romans founded "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium", the city then became the provincial capital of "Germania Inferior". When I took the photo in 2017 Johann Schäfer seemed to be a forwarder (Spedition) with a long history (52 years). When I returned in 2018, this was a restaurant named "Johann Schäfer". Not all people I met in the "Suedstaft" like this kind of gentrification. www.johann-schaefer.de/

Cologne - Rocky

Cologne is the fourth-largest city in Germany - and one of the oldest. A Germanic tribe, the Ubii, had a settlement here, this was named by the Romans "Oppidum Ubiorum". In 50 AD, the Romans founded "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium", the city then became the provincial capital of "Germania Inferior". In 2017 I could live in Cologne for some months, took photos and picked up stories. I will - from time to time - now add some photos from Cologne. Here is Rocky, the leading dog-parlour in the "Suedstadt", the most lively quarter of Cologne (imho!).
