We had finally passed the spectacular and very narrow "Gorge la Pierre-Lys" and spent the night in "Les Eaux Tranquilles" (Chris is an outstanding host!) www.chambresdhote.com/index.htm We passed Quillan next morning and headed west. The D117 ascends steeply and there are some nice hairpin bends. Here we found "WE ARE MONGOLIA". A local told us, that it was done by a Mongolian cycling team, preparing for the "Tour de France" in the foothills of the Pyrenees. But that may just be some nice gossip. The village in the valley below is Ginoles.

When I had crossed the Pyrenees by foot some weeks ago, I had seen vultures a couple of times. I had never taken a photo, as they watched me - and as soon as I stopped and opened my camera bag - the vultures vanished. This morning the couple posed for me up in the sky.
