Cérilly - Saint-Martin

Saint-Martin was erected within the 12th/13th centuries, but got enlarged and altered, when in the 15th century side chapels were added. The apse and the crossing are dated to the first half of teh 12th century. So these two capitals may date back to that time. They are very "basic" - and got colourfully painted, probably in the 19th century.

Saint-Martin was erected within the 12th/13th centuries, but got enlarged and altered, when in the 15th century side chapels were added. The nave (end of 12th) is clearly Romanesque. It probably had a wooden ceiling once, that got replaced by the vaulting. The crossing and the choir, seen in the backdrop, are older than the nave.
