St. Micheln is a district of the town of Müchel and the St. Micheln church with its 25 m high massive tower is unmistakable in St. Micheln. The Romanesque church was first mentioned in documents in the 12th century. The church was possibly founded in 1128 by Bishop Otto of Bamberg. This little horse (or dog?) is not a graffito. Nobody knows for sure what it means. some believe the stone came from an older building and link it to pre-Christian rites.
