In 1308 James II of Aragon (aka "Jaume el Just", "Jaime II de Aragón") acquired castle and town and so could increase the Aragonese influence on the island. Already within the 12th century the building of the Duomo di Bosa started, today a co-cathedral of the Diocese of Alghero-Bosa. The present building, with the two two cupolas, is the product of numerous restorations.
