Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens ("Saint Peter in chains") is known since mid of the 12th century, when a small church existed here.
The tower and parts of the nave date back to that time. The church was enlarged in the 14th century. During the Hundred Years’ War Gigouzac suffered, as it got sacked and looted by English troops. The church got severely damaged and had to be restored after the war. Within the 17th century the church got enlarged again, when an aisle was added.
