Èze-Bord de Mer

Èze-Boad de Mer, is at the end of the "Sentier de Nietzsche", that starts at Èze Village, 430m higher. This little spot even has a train-station, as the railroad line from Nice to Monaco follows the coastline. I learned from the Tourist Office that this village was the center of a russian colony escaping from the 1917 revolution. Even members of the Stroganov-family lived here. The large bay is named "Golfe de St-Hospice", Beaulieu-sur-Mer is to the right. Nice is behind Cap Ferrat on the horizon.

Cap Ferrat

On my way to Monaco, standing in Èze-village, about 10kms east of Nice, and looking back (west). Seen here is the peninsula "Cap Ferrat". I learned from a local real-estate-agent, that this peninsula has the most valuable real estate - in the whole of France! Once the largest part of the peninsula was owned Leopold II of Belgium, later it was "subdivided" in a large lots, and nowadays there are only old villas and palaces in spacious parks, owned by wealthy families since generations. I was told, that more recent residents are Paul Allen (Microsoft) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (Cats), but that may all be just rumours.
