This church, dedicated to Saint-Liphard, once was a collegiate church. It is located next to the former country residence of the Bishops of Orléans. A chapel was erected over the grave of the Saint Liphard, a cousin of Clovis, who had lived here a hermit´s life. Later this became part of a monastery and from 1068 on it was a Collegiate Chapter, depending it directly upon the neighbouring Bishop of Orleans. The church was consecrated in 1146, but then probably only the choir was completed. The nave, the aisles and the vaulting date to the 12th century
