Carcassonne - Kijoté

Kijoté calls the music "swing manouche", what translates to "gypsy swing", but there are as well strong influences of French chansons and powerful Spanish flamenco. Kijoté is a duo. Damien Ruiz (vocals/guitare) About a year ago, Kijoté produced the first CD titled "Chien Errant", after a successful fundraising, that had started with two really nice videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjk1c37SxFs www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm4-kytZt2k

Kijoté is a duo - Damien Ruiz (voc./guit.) and Eric Blanc (bass). Eric was new (for me). Two years ago Pierre Montel played the contrabass. Driving back to Carcassonne we had already listened to "Chien Errant", Kijoté´s first CD. This CD was produced after a fundraising, that was started with two really nice videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm4-kytZt2k www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjk1c37SxFs So when we reached the "Place Carnot" in the later afternoon, we were already humming his chansons.

An afternoon concert of Kijoté on the corner of the Place Carnot. The singer calls the music "swing manouche", what translates to "gypsy swing", but there are as well influences of French chansons and Spanish flamenco. That afternoon, there was even a small Flamenco dancer! You can listen to and purchase Kijoté´s music here: kijote.bandcamp.com/ ----- Some years ago, I got a shock at exactly this corner in Carcassonne. This happened after the ATM (in the back) had refused to accept my cash card. A day later, the machine was more friendly to me.
