Arlempdes is a small village just 30kms north of the spring of the Loire river. It is so quaint, that it belongs to the "Plus beaux villages de France". The parish church dedicated to Saint Peter, erected in the 12th/13th century, got remodeled in the 16th century, when the bell gable ("clocher-mur") was added. To the left the walls of the ruined castle.

Arlempdes is a small village just 30kms north of the spring of the Loire river. It is so quaint, that it belongs to the "Plus beaux villages de France". Seen on the cliff over the Loire is Saint Jaques, a chapel that was once part of the now ruined castle. Some walls of the castle are visible to the left.

The river Loire is, with a length of more than 1000 kms, the longest river in France. Here near the spring the Loire is still young and very shallow. The chapel St. Jacques, on the cliff in the backdrop, belongs to the village Arlempdes. The chapel is the last remaining building of the former castle.
