Nice - Promenade des Anglais

21 Mar 2011 125
When the first english tourists came to Nice, they enjoyed the panorama along the coast, but the pebble beach was not easy to walk for the victorian ladies and gentlemen. So the "Promenade des Anglais" was built. Meanwhile it is still a promenade, used by tourists (and inline-scaters), but as well a four-lane highway, so it can be pretty noisy. These blue chairs are the meeting points for the elderly, if the chairs are not wet from the recent rain.
