Montségur-sur-Lauzon - Saint-Felix

04 Dec 2015 198
When in medieval times Montségur-sur-Lauzon was named Saint-Raphaël this was a small fortified village centered around a castle on a promontory. The village moved onto the foot of the mountain, the old settlement and the castle were given up - and are no in ruins. Only this chapel, dedicated to Saint Felix, still exists. The chapel belonged (just like near "Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens" in Colonzelle) to a priory depending from Cluny. The structure, once a simple single-nave church, got enlarged within the 17th century.
