Le Blanc is located on the border of Berry, Poitou and Touraine and could "guard" a ford to cross the Creuse. The church got remodelled and enlarged in Gothic times. This capital is clearly rougher and older than the previous one. A "Master of Beasts" holding snakes?

Meanwhile, I had returned a couple of times. The hotel had changed hands, but it is still worth a detour - especially for the restaurant. Bavette à l'échalote

Hugues de Naillac, Lord of Gargilesse, returned from a crusade and brought back a statue of the Virgin, whose beneficent protection would have been proven during the fighting. The place was in use much earlier, as around the church a Merovingian necropolis from the 7th century was unearthed. The sarcophagi were discovered during public works in the 1950s. Some of the old graffiti are carved into the outer walls.
