The "Citadelle de Sisteron" placed on a mountain, overlooking the valley of the Durance - and the town of Sisteron. A fortified place already since roman times. The structure has still parts of the 13th century, but the most was built within the 16th/17th century. It guarded an important point on the border between the Provence and the Dauphine.
