Saint Jean Pied de Port - Les Pizzas d´Aitatxi

22 Jun 2024 57
Three of the four major French pilgrimage routes meet in the village of Ostabat, about 10 km north of the city. Most of the pilgrims who follow the Camino Francés start in Saint Jean Pied de Port. The pilgrims must be hungry, otherwise there wouldn't be so many vending machines here. Les Pizzas d´Aitatxi

..this street is pretty busy from 6 to 8 in the morning, when all pilgrims and walkers walk up to Hunto, to reach Roncesvalles in the afternoon. After the rush-hour, it is very quiet again upto noon, when the first "pelerins" arrive from Ostabat - and meet with all, that start from here.
