Menhirs du Plessis

18 Oct 2024 4 1 45
In the north of Pierre Folle du Plessis, there used to be a 2.80 metre high menhir that was felled and broken in two at the end of the 19th century. After it had been repaired and re-erected, it was broken up again during land consolidation. This destroyed menhir formed an equilateral triangle with an edge length of approx. 100 metres to the two still existing standing stones, the Menhirs du Plessis. The northern stone is 7.5 metres long. It fell over and was erected again in 1977. The southern one is about 4.0 metres high and made of granite.
